A contract is a very serious matter… you can’t suggest people go and have fun once it’s signed.
That’s me told… a senior lawyer admonished me in this way after reviewing an early edition of the 500-word contract (and its user guide).
But you can have fun with contracts:
- consider (but don’t adopt) clauses relating to the zombie apocalypse
- review the design and tone of a holiday contract
- ridiculous clauses in serious contracts (from Law Geek).
We can also take a lighter approach to learning lessons about contracting, taking inspiration from:
- football contracts
- contracts by or with children (as collected by Laura Frederick)
- a school report card
- sculpting celebration cakes
- cycling up the Alps.
What should do you?
Don’t assume contracts have to be serious.
